Postdoctoral Position in Nuclear Astrophysics and Reactions
Nuclear Astrophysics and Reactions: is to support our programme of nuclear astrophysics and nuclear structure studies via Coulomb Excitation and transfer reactions combined with gamma-ray techniques. The position will involve working with radioactive rare isotope beams and the application of charged particle detection systems at laboratories including Argonne National Lab, Florida State University, TRIUMF and Legnaro National Lab.
The successful candidate will join an established group studying nuclei of structural and astrophysical interest at the limits of accessibility, using a full range of experimental techniques. Candidates should have a proven track record of research contributions in experimental nuclear physics. Previous experience in the relevant spectroscopic techniques and data analysis methods would be an advantage.
Informal enquiries can be made to Professors Paddy Regan (p.regan@surrey.ac.uk); Zsolt Podolyak (z.podolyak@surrey.ac.uk) or Wilton Catford (w.catford@surrey.ac.uk).
