Postdoctoral Researcher in Physics
The Department of Physics in the Faculty of Mathematics and Science is seeking to recruit a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the JYFL Accelerator Laboratory. The two-year position starts on 2nd June 2025 or as agreed.
The researcher will join the Exotic Nuclei and Beams (IGISOL) group. The group investigates properties of atomic nuclei employing high-precision mass spectrometry as well as laser and decay spectroscopy at the IGISOL facility. The conducted research furthers our understanding of nuclear structure and provides essential data for nuclear astrophysics, neutrino physics, fundamental interactions as well as for applications. The researcher’s primary tasks are related to high-precision mass measurements and related production of radioactive nuclei. The position is associated with the Research Council of Finland project “Heavy Exotic Nuclei for Nuclear Astrophysics”. Other duties may include teaching and thesis instruction.
