Expanding Your Horizons

Expanding Your Horizons is a national organization that hosts local conferences with the mission “Inspiring girls to recognize their potential and pursue opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.”

JINA has hosted a workshop at the University of Notre Dame conference for the past few years, using a variety of topics and projects. This year, we led 3 sessions with 15 girls each, on the electromagnetic spectrum, atomic emission spectra, and radiation.

Although the organizers didn’t share survey data this year, one of the 2017 PAN students remarked that they learned about the program through EYH at ND a few years prior, so we know it’s having a lasting effect on at least a few students.
