i-process Nucleosynthesis Workshop & School

We are happy to announce the continuation of the successful series of workshops related to the “intermediate” or i-process nucleosynthesis. 

The workshop will take place at the Poseidonia Beach Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus during the period May 16-19, 2023. A mini school will be organized right before the main workshop ( May 15-16, 2023) for junior scientists who would benefit from an introduction and hands-on activities on i-process nucleosynthesis. 

The workshop will cover topics related to the i process, such as astrophysical calculations, stellar observations, stardust measurements, nuclear theory, nuclear experiments, and more. In addition it will cover the connection of the i process to other astrophysical processes.  

We plan to have invited talks that will give a broader overview on these topics. In addition, we will have contributed talks that discuss in more detail recent results and future plans related to i-process nucleosynthesis.

We strongly encourage young researchers to join the mini school and the main workshop and present their work. Thanks to our generous sponsors IReNA, FRIB, University of Oslo and ChETEC we will be able to offer some financial support for a limited number of junior researchers by request. Details on the allocation procedure will be available on our website and in the second circular.
