The TARDIS summer school will consist of short lectures and hands-on labs guided by TARDIS developers to promote an understanding of the underlying physics of TARDIS, before moving on to a detailed primer on how to use the code to accurately model supernova explosions. The format of our summer school was heavily inspired by the ongoing successful MESA summer school. Participants can expect to learn the necessary radiative transfer and plasma physics, as well as how to perform scientific quality spectral synthesis of explosive transients with TARDIS to measure key parameters in supernova ejecta, such as elemental composition, densities, and luminosity. The summer school will culminate with a hands-on project to synthesize a spectrum for a nearby well-observed supernova and gain an understanding of the explosion and its progenitor.
