Research Associate/Postdoc - Gamma Ray Spectroscopy DESPEC at FAIR

The position holder participates actively in the construction, operation, maintenance and further development of the DESPEC experiment at GSI/FAIR. The focus of her/his activities is on the development and testing of the data acquisition and online/nearline analysis system in collaboration with the engineers and other experts involved in the group. In addition, she/he acts as a contact person for the DESPEC collaboration and support further nuclear spectroscopic experiments of the group at external accelerator facilities and the TU Darmstadt. She/he will prepare the scientific results for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present them at (inter)national conferences and workshops, if appropriate.

The position holder supports the Institute in the implementation of courses in the subject area, e.g. by supervising exercise groups or internships, in the supervision of students during their final theses and of PhD students in order to further the own academic qualification.
