JINA Sponsored Workshop -- A JINA supported conference " The Sixth International Conference on Nuclear Physics in Astrophysics (NPA-VI)" took place in Lisbon, Portugal from May 19 to 24, 2013. Website


JINA Research -- Under the JINA umbrella, the Princeton group embarked upon a new series of 3D radiation/hydrodynamic simulations with fully 3D transport that avoids the numerical pitfalls of the past and the artifacts of 2D approaches. The current state of play in supernova theory is summarized in the cover story of Review of Modern Physics (Rev. Mod. Phys. 85, 245, 2013), by JINA co-investigator A. Burrows. Read

JINA Workshop -- JINA 2012 Nuclear Astrophysics Town Meeting was held from October 9 to 10 in Detroit, Michigan. Website


JINA Workshop -- JINA Frontiers 2012 Workshop took place from October 7 - 8, 2012 at National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory in MSU, East Lansing, MI. Website


JINA Workshop -- A JINA sponsored workshop on "Outstanding Problems in Massive Star Research --the Final Stages" was held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, 2012 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Website


Nova Project -- The nova project is combining the expertise in nucleo-synthesis in accreting white dwarfs from U Chicago, U Victoria and TRIUMF to generate a simulation framework based on the MESA and NuGrid codes. Website


JINA Workshop -- JINA co-organized breakout session on nuclear astrophysics at the 2012 "Low Energy Nuclear Physics Community Meeting" at ANL from August 17 - 18, 2012. Website

JINA Supported School -- A JINA supported school on "Exotic Nuclei and Nuclear/Particle Astrophysics (IV). From Nuclei to Stars" took place in Sinaia, Romania from June 24 to July 7, 2012. Website


DIANA hunts for neutrons. -- Researchers from the Dual Ion Accelerators for Nuclear Astrophysics Project set up portable Helium 3 counters on the 4100 Level of the Sanford Lab to measure neutron backgrounds. Details


Rare element from space -- The element tellurium probably originated in exploding stars, or supernovae, through a process by which nuclei rapidly capture neutrons and become heavier. Nature News
