CARINA-JINA Collaboration on Nuclear Data Compilations for Nucleosythesis Modelling
The goal of the collaboration between CARINA and JINA is to develop an updated and unified nuclear reaction data base for modeling a wide variety of stellar nucleosynthesis scenarios. The first collaboration meeting willl be held at ECT* in Spring 2007. The purpose of this meeting is top develop strategies and techniques to update and eventually merge the presently most important data libraries for astrophysics (KADoNiS, NACRE, REACLIB). More

JINA postdoc Daniel Galaviz won the best poster award at the 2006 COMEX-2 international conference in Sankt Goar, Germany. The poster reported preliminary results from a JINA experiment led by Daniel Galaviz, which was performed at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at Michigan State University. Photo!

JINA Outreach receives a $10K community foundation matching grant to do a summer science camp for middle school kids at ND this summer!


The National Research Council (NRC) was asked to review the importance to the nation of the science agenda for the Rare Isotope Accelerator. The President of the National Academies and NRC Chair, Ralph Cicerone, has formed the Rare Isotope Science Assessment Committee (RISAC) of the National Research Council and has selected and approved the committee members.
