The Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics (JINA)
organized the
first workshop on the topic "The r process - new experimental,
theoretical, and observational opportunities" from October, 6 to
October 8, 2002.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together nuclear experimentalists,
nuclear theorists and astrophysicists to discuss the latest developments
in their subfields, identify the mutual impact of these developments
and, hopefully, lay the ground work for new, productive interdisciplinary
collaborations.
